We are paws-itively thrilled to share that Santa Fe Animal Clinic is moving to a brand-new, larger location at The Ranch, 162 South Rancho Santa Fe Road, Floor F1, Suite #F-10, Encinitas, CA! Nestled behind Firenze Trattoria and adjacent to Harvest Ranch, this exciting move reflects our growth and commitment to providing even better care for your beloved pets.
Why Are We Moving?
When we first opened, Santa Fe Animal Clinic was a single-doctor practice with a cozy 1,250-square-foot space and just two exam rooms. Thanks to the support of our community and the addition of three new doctors, we've expanded to four doctors, and our clinic has outgrown that space. Your trust in us, especially through transitions like the retirements of Doctors Tanaka and Bohn, is why we’ve grown this much. Our current location has served us well, but it’s time for a bigger, better space that meets the needs of the pets and families we serve. Most importantly, we want to welcome every client and patient with open arms and never turn anyone away due to limited space.
What’s New at The Ranch?
Moving to this new 2,250-square-foot space means nearly doubling our capacity! Here's what you can expect:

Four Exam Rooms: More space and privacy, including a dedicated comfort room for bereavement with a private exit to support families during difficult moments.

Cat-Only Room: A separate, quiet space just for cats with designated waiting areas to reduce stress by keeping them separate from dogs.

Improved Parking: A larger parking lot for easier, more convenient access.

Surgical and Specialty Suites: Dedicated surgical, dental, and radiology rooms for faster diagnostics, safer surgeries, and enhanced dental care.
Extended Hours for Your Convenience
Even before our move, we’ve expanded hours at our current location. We’re now open until 6 pm on weekdays and Saturdays, so you have more flexibility for your pet’s care without upsetting your schedule.
Important Update: Temporary Closure During Our Move
To make the transition seamless, Santa Fe Animal Clinic will temporarily close between Wednesday, June 24, 2026, and Early August as we prepare to open our new facility. This brief closure ensures everything is perfectly set up for your pet’s care at the new location.
Please note that June 24th will be the last day for appointments, medication, and prescription food pick-ups at our current location.
During this period:

Your pets’ care is still our top priority. Although the clinic doors will be closed, our team will be working behind the scenes, monitoring emails, approving online prescription refills, and coordinating with doctors for ongoing medical needs.

Primary veterinarians will stay involved in significant medical decisions whenever possible.

Your pet's basic medical records are available 24/7 on the PetDesk app

Sister hospitals will support you. Our wonderful partner hospital La Costa Animal Hospital, along with other sister hospitals, will be available to accommodate appointments, treatments, medication refills, and ongoing care needs.
