Lena Schjelvan, RVT

With over 25 years in the veterinary field, I bring a depth of experience that spans nearly every role within a practice—from reception and veterinary assistant to licensed veterinary technician, department lead, and practice management. Much of my career has been spent leading specialty practice departments, where I discovered that strong, compassionate leadership is just as critical as excellent medicine. Experiencing the impact of poor leadership firsthand ultimately inspired me to step forward and lead my own teams with intention and integrity.

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, my clinical foundation has shaped my approach to both teaching and leadership. I am a firm believer in servant leadership and thrive in environments where mentorship, growth, and collaboration are valued. I am passionate about supporting and developing the next generation of veterinary technicians while upholding the highest medical and ethical standards. I pride myself on being approachable, fair, and transparent, and I am known for standing up for my team while fostering a communicative, supportive, and fun work culture.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and cheering on my two sons from the soccer sidelines. At home, I’m kept company by two cats, Stella and Beetlejuice, who add plenty of personality to our household.
